ME+EM defines effortless luxury women’s clothing and they’re a favourite among celebrities and royalty alike, counting the Duchess of Cambridge, Nicole Kidman, and Cara Delevingne among their loyal customer base.

Started by Clare Hornby in 2009, they were recognised by the Walpole ‘Brands of Tomorrow’ award in their first year, along with numerous appearances in British fashion magazines. They were keen to harness this exposure, so worked with V&C to recruit a Managing Director to help take the business to the next level.


We felt it was critical for the ideal candidate to have P&L accountability, a background in merchandising and trading, and an understanding of both bricks and mortar and online sales which would be key to growth.

Finally entrepreneurial flair was important, and the ability to present at board level representing Clare’s vision and the ME+EM story.


A variety of suitable candidates were presented to the business, and they selected an omnichannel Executive Director, with proven commercial experience in buying, merchandising, selling, operations, and supply chain developments in retail and ecommerce businesses in the UK and International markets. With an excellent skillset across brand equity, international expansion, CRM, marketing, CSR, and change management, they also have all the financial credentials, having a proven record of increasing sales, profit, market share, and raising capital investment.
