Brief

When Geoffrey Kent started A&K in 1962, he dreamed of being able to offer the most inspirational experiences in the world.

With a turnover in excess of £100 million and comprising multiple brands including Abercrombie & Kent, Cox & Kings, and Crystal Cruises, V&C were appointed to fill a newly created position of Senior Vice President of Marketing for the UK. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the role was designed to strategically position each brand and attract new clientele.

Approach

We mapped our market and met with A&Ks Chief Marketing Manager to precisely identify the culture of the department and the type of individual they were searching for.

With offices in Cheltenham and London, it was crucial for the candidate to have the flexibility and dynamism to solidify the marketing teams across the two sites, to harness the division, and work with the teams to deliver a new and exciting media strategy. Our focus was to identify candidates that had worked within large corporate organisations comprising multiple brands who had successfully weaved the marketing strategy both on and offline.

Outcome

The successful candidate had worked across multiple brands incorporated into one larger organisation that had a presence across cruises, hotels and trains. They had experience in executing the media strategy for these internal brands whilst keeping and independent identity to each sector. Exactly what Abercrombie & Kent had identified in the brief and exactly what V&C delivered.
