    Our partnered client, an established and successful supplier of loungewear, Underwear and Jerseywear, is looking for a Junior Designer to join their rapidly growing team.

    You will be responsible for designing artwork and packaging for customer needs, undertaking shop visits and working towards tight design briefs from a wide range of customers.

    Key Responsibilities: - 

    Working towards tight design briefs from a wide range of customers.
    Design and artwork packaging for customer needs.
    Assisting design team to ensure designs meet customer requirements.
    They will need to show an awareness of trends, graphics and shapes.
    Undertake comp shop visits and report back to design team.
    Presenting work to the required standard.
    Attending internal meetings and producing the correct paperwork.
    Produce final artwork to size specs and ensure all colour references are correctly labelled.
    Producing storyboards for seasonal trends.

    Fabric Sourcer and Developer

    V&C has been briefed on an opportunity for a dynamic, experienced and confident Fabric Developer required for an extremely successful multinational organisation that has particular value on emphasis and trends around Textiles/fabrics.

    This important position plays a critical part in the development process, delivering fabric trend analysis across all product areas of the business, focusing on the key aspects of innovation and development, delivering their findings as a team to senior management and across the business. The functions include all facets of fabric and textiles, from woven’s and Knitwear through to printing, coating and washing. Structured and textured fabric knowledge equally important.

    Key Responsibilities:-

    • To efficiently drive and manage the development of fabric, labels and trim throughout the product creation and development process (this may include travel).
    • You will ensure all raw materials are developed on time within the critical path to meet key dates.
    • Pro-actively research fabric and trim innovation, and be well informed of new technologies, seasonal trends and competition; relay this information back to the team.
    • Develop exclusive and innovative materials.
    • Drive fabric sourcing opportunities for strategic short and long-term growth in order to achieve the company turnover and margin targets.
    • Build seasonal fabric and trim platforms based on design input.
    • Build relationships with global partners and suppliers.
    • Negotiate prices and delivery dates effectively and in line with commercial objectives.
    • Maintain seasonal colour standards/library.
    • Lab dip approval process.
    • Fabric and trim testing and approval.
    • Control sample budget and mould charges and report on seasonal basis.
    • Manage material leverage and consolidation process, ensuring global consistency and cost-price efficiencies. 
    • Set up and manage NOS programme for key and core materials within the business.
    • Liaise with Product Development and Merchandising department on raw material lead-time, MOQ and shipping.
    • Ensure all raw material developed/sourced is fit for purpose and is produced within Hunter’s quality standards.
    • Work with the Sustainability Department to ensure 2nd tier sourcing is carried out in-line with Hunter policy.
    • Experience in outlining and implementing new processes into the category, department and business to standardise processes and continuously improve ways of working.
    • Highly organised to maintain accurate records from initial development through to bulk production stage. 
    • Clear, effective communication skills to all internal and external parties.

    Key Requirements:-

    • Strong and experienced fabric knowledge with a minimum 5 years working as a Product Developer and driving fabric selection.
    • The ability to translate trends and fashion coherently and effectively by way of presentation.
    • Excellent worldwide fabric mill knowledge. 
    • Knowledge of trade shows and events incorporating worldwide travel.
    • Product development experience at a senior level.
    • Effective communicator and team player.
    • Strong presentation skills using Mood boards.
    • Experience and in-depth knowledge of the competitive fabric marketplace.
    • Previous fabric Sourcing and development experience.
    • Technical knowledge and proven track record of developing and sourcing highly commercial fabrics.
    • Experienced at mood board creation and the ability to deliver information visually with relevant information. 
    • Textile Degree required. 
    • Proven experience of photoshop, In Design, Illustrator and Excel.

    Design Development Manager

    £35,000 - £40,000

    Opportunity for a Development Project Manager to join one of the UK’s leading Shop fixtures and fittings manufactures.

    You will be responsible for working closely with the Design teams to collate drawings, specs and BOM’s and work closely with suppliers with development of new products.

    Must have a minimum 5 years’ experience within shopfitting or retail display, with strong Project Management and Design experience.

    Key Responsibilities:- 

    Providing design support to Key Accounts, liaising with Account Directors and Managers.
    Creating agreed, well defined and formulated briefs and communicating these back into the design team using the appropriate documentation and process.
    Supplying technical design support to internal design team utilizing personal areas of expertise where appropriate, expanding personal knowledge base to include multi-disciplined solutions and exploiting value engineering opportunities
    Monitoring and supporting projects as they develop through the design process actively project managing, supplying documentation and liaising with Procurement Account Directors and Managers.
    Taking active involvement in the project estimating process where required to provide proactive value analysis and optimum cost efficiencies, value engineered products.
    Working with Procurement and supply base to assist with technical queries and to maintain full awareness of manufacturing processes and techniques.
    Collating drawings, specifications and BOM’s for manufacture of prototypes and production roll-outs.
    Providing other functions and colleagues with advice on all aspects of design engineering and technical development.
    Working within strict time parameters in keeping with the demands of retail customers.
    React to project alterations and make adjustments promptly and efficiently, able to be a confident and effective decision maker.
    Actively researching and investigating innovation and new technologies that may be used to increase the businesses range of products and services.
    Able to travel when required to oversee international projects - or liaise with foreign supply base.
    Compliance to company policies and group management systems.

    Key Requirements:-

    Demonstrable ability with Solidworks and/or AutoCAD design software would be of benefit.
    A minimum of 5 years’ experience of project management within the retail display or shop fitting industry.
    Excellent knowledge of shelving systems would be an advantage
    A good appreciation of the relevant manufacturing processes and materials.
    Excellent IT skills to include Microsoft Excel, numeracy and analytical ability
    Good attention to detail with a disciplined approach to time management
    Strong written and oral communication skills.
    Strong interpersonal skills, able to work both independently and in a team orientated collaborative environment.
    Ability to effectively make decisions, prioritise and execute tasks in a high pressure environment
    Organised, process driven individual who understands project management, critical paths, also approval processes, and the commercial implications of decision making.
    Flexible and motivated, with a ‘hands on' approach.
