    V&C has been retained on a fantastic opportunity for an established Head of Production to join one of the fastest growing British Luxury  sustainability accessory brands based in central London.

    The position will working closely with Operations Director and Design team and will ultimately be responsible for sourcing and developing the complete range, managing the production of accessories collections including Bags, Belts, Jewellery and Clutches from their production facilities worldwide.

    This exciting entrepreneurial positions will work closely with current and new supply base overseeing the product from conception to production – meeting margin, on time delivery and the brands aesthetic needs.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Establishing production processes, leading ongoing artisan training initiatives, and determining approach to artisan engagement and support
    • Monitor social impact strategy and targets
    • Build and develop the product team to support growth of brand, defining the future operating model and hiring new team members as required
    • Work with designers and leadership to drive product development and sampling activities
    • Own the sampling process for new products and manage rounds of development and ultimate sign off to move to production
    • Support production audit activities with third party audit groups and drive continuous improvement plans that address findings
    • Create and maintain production strategy and plan for the range plan
    • Lead new materials research, development, and procurement; with a key focus on sustainable and up-cycled materials
    • Build the  production capacity by leading growth planning for in house atelier and partner organisations
    • Build detailed product costings to support product pricing decisions; monitoring product margins
    • Creating the detailed quarterly budget and plan
    • Establish and manage production schedules for all collections, special projects, and collaborations
    • Manage material supply chain for production centres; establishing supplier relationships
    • Monitor material inventories for production centres to ensure availability whole minimising
    • Track and report on production schedule progress
    • Establish logistics strategy to minimise costs and reduce environmental impact
    • Build effective logistics network of agents, shippers, and distributers to support production centres and market strategy
    • Own product shipping schedule to support launch timelines and sales channel needs
    • Communicate shipping timetables to sales channel leads and key partners
    • Action and manage a company testing procedure to ensure all components and fabrics comply with brand standards
    • Action and manage the record keeping of factory profiles
    • Negotiate on target costs throughout development to ensure company margin is achieved
    • Ensure all products are of a quality that reflects the brands standards
    • Manage the smooth transition of proto development to production and manage design to ensure all timelines are met
    • Ensure all business tools are updated with correct information to ensure smooth hand over into production
    • Manage all factories through production ensuring they are able to meet the brands expectations of quality, delivery, margin and capacity
    • Manage key relationships with the supplier base

    Key Characteristics

     

    • To have a strong knowledge of product development process
    • Good technical knowledge across accessories
    • Excellent production management skills working with multi product areas.
    • Good negotiation, communication and entrepreneurial skills
    • At least 6 years in a production management capacity.

    Childrenswear Garment Technologist

    We have been briefed on an exciting opportunity for a Childrenswear Garment Technologist to join a leading high street retailer.

    You will be responsible for delivering technical quality standards and product technical innovation across the business to meet customer needs.

    The ideal candidate would have experience as a Childrenswear Technologist, preferably from a retail background with strong knowledge on supply base and the ability to provide expertise on product construction, component/fabric innovation and technical capability of suppliers to deliver the products required.

    Key Responsibilities:-

    Deliver clear specifications to suppliers at briefing stage including key construction, fit and component/materials performance standards.
    Create technical packs and ensure these are communicated to the regional offices.
    Drive garment / fabric innovation, working closely with the buyer and supply base.
    Advise on sourcing routes.
    Travel to centres of excellence for product development and supplier awareness.
    Carry out regular risk screening of products and manufacturing routes.
    Liaise with technologists across business to ensure standards are consistent.
    Liaise with the regional offices on direct buys as appropriate to brief them on their responsibilities.
    Initiate and action wearer trials for direct suppliers.
    Complete benchmarking exercises of garments with high street competitors.
    Analyse customer feedback to gain knowledge of customer requirements for product innovation and development.
    Instigate due diligence testing during each season.
    Train and develop technology trainees when appropriate.
    Work with the regional offices to ensure garments are manufactured to the specification.
    Approve first fits of all products, including quality of construction and to approve grades by exception.
    Approve grades and contract seal fits for direct suppliers only.
    Carry out regular fit reviews of garments.

    Fabric Coordinator

    £35,000 - £40,000

    This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Fabric Coordinator who has worked with Fabric previously to join a Luxury lifestyle brand based in London.

    You must have excellent communication and organisational skills, as well as strong computer literacy, to play a key role in the smooth running of fabric ordering, quality control right through to production.

    Key Responsibilities:-

    Create and maintain fabric files and input fabric details onto NAVISION ensuring all codes/colour references/descriptions are correct.
    Work closely with Head of Design to ensure a smooth handover from development to production.
    Liaise daily with fabric mills and inform relevant departments / people of any changes to delivery dates and report any under/over deliveries.
    Approve bulk fabric for delivery.
    Action any additional processes to fabric in timely manner eg; Fabric washing, embroidery etc.
    Co-ordinate the delivery of fabrics to/from multiple destinations to meet in store delivery date.
    Work with Finance to ensure all invoices are accurate and that the relevant paperwork is processed to allow prompt payments.
    Manage internal and external fabric queries/availability/quality issues/shortages.
    Manage and update stock levels on a daily basis ensuring all transfers, deliveries and returns are recorded accurately on Navision.
    Send out weekly fabric stock updates to relevant people / departments.
    Critical path management.

    Key Requirements:-

    4+ years’ experience working in a role involving raw material/fabric buying within Luxury.
    Knowledge of UK and offshore production of CMT garments.
    Good knowledge of printing, dying, special finishes and extras processes such as washing.
    Basic understanding of textiles/fabrics and their different traits.
    Experience of working with European mills at luxury level.
    Experience working out fabric requirement using garment ratings.
    Must be good at calculations.
    Good negotiating skills.
    Excellent administration and time management skills.
    Strong communication skills and an ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, suppliers and manufacturers.
    Excellent Excel skills - need to be able to create spreadsheets and use basic formulas such as V look up.
    Does not need to be advanced.
    Attention to detail, efficient and able to work calmly under pressure.
    Articulate – well-spoken and clear with their instructions.
    Hardworking attitude.
    Forward planning and pre-empting issues.
    Suggesting or implementing new processes that streamline in with the rest of the department.

    We are working with a well-established knit and jersey supplier, whom are recruiting for a Jersey Garment Technologist to join their growing team.

    The position plays an instrumental role within the business, with a full ownership for garment specifications and critical path management from development to production sealers.

    Key Responsibilities:-

    Working on the fit of garments from the 1st proto through to production.
    Attending fit meetings with customers to ensure the sample fits well.
    Working with the Creative Designer and Sales Director on fits and assessing factory capabilities for first samples.
    Organising and attending fit meetings and relaying clear & concise fit comments to all factories.
    Measuring all samples, creating, amending and updating fully graded specs and providing technical drawings/diagrams where necessary.
    Liaising with the Pattern Cutter to ensure patterns are amended accordingly, track in-house patterns and ensure that graded patterns are checked prior to sending out to factory.
    Working across departments to ensure that all necessary people are updated on any QA issues or changes in product.
    Working closely alongside our factories to ensure product meets the required quality standards.
    Checking bulk fabrics and gold seal samples are fit for production and ensure factories have all necessary information to deliver a first class product.
    Being a point of contact for factories for any technical issues or queries they may have throughout the sampling period.
    Working alongside the Production Manager to check and approve shipment samples.
    Analysing product returns ensuring that follow up action is taken.

    Key Requirements:-

    Working with jersey fabric with over 2 years’ experience in a garment technical capacity.
    Passionate about attention to detail.
    Strong communicator.
    Team player and able to work under pressure calmly.
    Understanding a workroom environment.
    Next NIS system knowledge a plus but not essential.
    Must have a can do attitude and a true drive to be part of a successful growing team.

    We are working with a luxury ladies wear brand based in Central London whom are recruiting an experienced Senior Garment Technologist to join their growing team. This international brand specialises in creating luxurious garments across knitwear, jerseywear and delicate woven fabrics.

    The position plays an instrumental role within the business communicating across Design & Production teams ensuring the accurate and efficient production of garments. Full ownership for garment specifications and critical path management from development to production sealers.

    Key Responsibilities:-

    Working on the fit of garments in all product ranges from the 1st proto through to production.
    Working with the Creative Designer and Owner on fits and assessing factory capabilities for first samples.
    Organising and attending fit meetings with the Production team and relaying clear & concise fit comments to all factories.
    Measuring all samples, creating, amending and updating fully graded specs and providing technical drawings/diagrams where necessary.
    Attending regular Design meetings in order to update the team on sampling progress.
    Liaising with the Pattern Cutter to ensure patterns are amended accordingly, track in-house patterns and ensure that graded patterns are checked prior to sending out to factory.
    Liaising with the Design team & Pattern Cutter to ensure that styles/patterns are prioritised according to the Critical Path and updating tracking tools accordingly.
    Working with the Senior Garment Technologist and the Production Manager to assess fabrics in order to determine suitable vendors.
    Working across departments to ensure that all necessary people are updated on any QA issues or changes in product.
    Working closely alongside our factories to ensure product meets the required quality standards.
    Checking bulk fabrics and gold seal samples are fit for production and ensure factories have all necessary information to deliver a first class product.
    Visiting UK factories to QC production whenever necessary under the guidance of the Production Manager.
    Assisting the Design team with transferring sketches to Illustrator and using Excel to create accurate specs.
    Being a point of contact for factories for any technical issues or queries they may have throughout the sampling period.
    Carry out research against competitors and latest technological advances.
    Working alongside the Production Manager to check and approve shipment samples.
    Spot-checking production by making store and warehouse visits to ensure finishing is of a first-class standard.
    Analysing product returns ensuring that follow up action is taken.

    Key Requirements:-

    Experienced working with luxury fabrics with over 6 years’ experience in a garment technical capacity.
    Passionate about attention to detail.
    Strong communicator.
    Team player and able to work under pressure calmly.
    Understanding a workroom environment.
    Gerber knowledge and pattern cutting would be an advantage.
