    Junior Jerseywear Designer

    £35,000 - £45,000

    V&C are working with a fast fashion brand on new opportunity to in the design department responsible for Woman's Jerseywear.

    The Jerseywear designer will be working closely with the Design Director to assist with the development of the Jerseywear collection whilst having a strong understand for trend, colour and fabric.

    The offices are great young, dynamic and exciting.

    Relocation required! 

    Key Responsibilities:-

    Liaise closely with suppliers to ensure all swatches, colour cards are seasonally archived
    Develop new yarns / communicate design ideas to factories from concept to production
    Issue lab dips and advise on all comments and approvals
    Issue yarn sample orders and ensure timely deliveries in line with the critical path
    Create specs and amendments
    Issue jerseywear sample orders inform factories of any changes required
    Create drawings for collection books and assist the creation of the collection pages
    Negotiate jerseywear prices for sampling and production
    Communicate effectively with all departments
    Monitor stock yarns at factories and update on a regular basis

    Key Requirements:-

    Ideally 3-5 years relevant experience in jerseywear, preferably for a fast fashion brand
    Excellent jerseywear manufacturing knowledge
    Proactive, hardworking and good communicator
    String fashion sense and eye for detail
    Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and Excel
    Good administrative skills
    Be able to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines

    We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Buyer at senior level to join a reputable and well established retailer in Russia.

    You will be responsible for working in close relationships with internal teams and suppliers to develop new products and ensure new ideas are in trend and to customer standard.

    Minimum experience of 5 years at established level from a well-known retailer or brand, with excellent communication and negation skills with factories and understanding of UK market to innovate and offer new products.

    English and Russian speaking is imperative!

    Key Responsibilities:-

    Trend research, work with design and product development to develop products.
    Review best sellers from previous season in the market to offer new products to move on bestselling lines.
    Follow up with suppliers, merchandisers and technicians to interpret products meeting the key elements of the design sheets within the timelines.
    Visit factories to identify products in trend, share new ideas, products and work with designers to develop products to cover missed opportunities.
    Review design presentations, critical path and plan to visit with a collection from mills and factories.
    Work closely with all teams involved to offer the best product range to the required price points meeting demands of the market.
    Promote capabilities of the region and encourage designers, customers to visit factories, and mills in the region.
    Work with director and general manager to set sales and profit targets at the beginning of the year, review and drive teams and suppliers to meet targets at the end of the year.

    Key Requirements:-

    Minimum 5 years’ experience in buying, design or product development role at an established retailer or brand.
    Knowledge and experience in Fashion Design, fabrications, product development, people management and working with manufacturers to interpret design sheets to samples
    Trend research and be updated WGSN, FASHION SNOOP and magazines.
    Knowledge and understanding of fashion market specially in UK and work to innovate and offer new products.
    Excellent communication and negotiation skills with customers to get competitive prices, go getter to get the best from the team and factories.
    Exceptional team player, resourceful and energetic.
    Training / development skills to develop teams and suppliers to improve developing products and remove restriction and ability to challenge to improve the product offer.

    Senior Pattern Cutter

    Working for one of Europe's most successful brands this Senior Creative Pattern Cutter is will be working within a busy design studio covering the complete denim collection for this fashionable brands.

    The Senior pattern cutter will need to have Gerber experience (or similar such as Lectra) and have over 8 years’ experience working with Denim fabrics and international denim manufacturers.

    Must have Womenswear Denim experience and relocation is required! 

    Key Responsibilities:-

    Finding best silhouette to fit with our customers including grading rules
    Assuring the best sewing method to achieve quality and price
    Working closely with the designers
    Reading sketches from designers
    Creating manual patterns if necessary
    Providing technical instruction to suppliers
    Measuring and checking samples
    Attending fitting meeting
    Improving fit and manufacturing standards
    Amending patterns as and when needed

    Key Requirements:-

    At least 8 years’ experience with Pattern Cutting
    Gerber or Lectra trained
    Strong understanding of denim and washed garments, shrinkage and grading
    Exposure to denim manufacturers
    Excellent communicator
    Good computer knowledge

    International Merchandise Manager

    Up to £80,000 DOE

    Working for one of Europe's most successful brands this International Brand Merchandise Manager is an independent position with a clear remit in  ensuring  stock is in the correct locations at the correct time, optimizing sales and reduce markdown.

    Working closely with the Product Merchandisers and Regional Managers to use analysis to feed into store space plans and to support and train the allocation team. 

    Key Requirements:-

    Conduct analysis across the store base. 
    Work cross-functionally to develop a sound understanding of the customer. 
    Maintain awareness of current business priorities to ensure that department strategy is aligned to that of the business. 
    Challenge existing thinking and identify new sales and profit opportunities. 
    Present grading to senior management and retail teams.
    Support expansion into new stores.
    Analyse performance of new stores and make amends as appropriate.
    Work in conjunction with the brand teams to review department/category performance
    Ensure warehouse and logistics teams are aligned to any department specific initiatives
    Develop top level allocation and replenishment principles.
    Review and refresh grading in season to reflect openings, closures, space changes and recent performance.
    Ensure stock is moving through the warehouse as expected.
    Check Allocation plans issued by department teams.
    Review sales performance at grade and store level, proposing trading actions and delivering those signed off after trade meetings.
    Build Strong relationships between product, retail and DC teams through clear and relevant communication with regular trade updates.
    Plan stock builds ahead of key selling periods.
    Sign off and monitor the opening and closure processes.
    Report on performance of trials to the brand team and key stake holders.
    Ensure the continuity business is maximised potentializing availability.

    Key Requirements:-

    Minimum 3 years experience in a similar field
    Form strong relationships with Merchandising team
    Good understanding of fast fashion
    Analytical and organised
    Commercial mindset
    Support the Merchandisers to conduct objective setting and performance reviews for the allocators

    Knit Yarn Technologist

    Up to £75,000 plus benefits

    V&C have an exciting International opportunity for a Flat  Knit Yarn Technologist to join a hugely successful multinational organisation working with the Research, Development & Manufacturing Departments. This important role requires identifying and developing the ideal yarns for product that differentiate themselves.

    Working across natural and manmade yarns, the technologist will be required to source and develop yarns that are fit for product, performance, purpose whilst maintaining and setting quality control levels, ensuring quality and efficiency within acceptable cost. Identifying and collaborating with the supply chain, the successful candidate will work on the development of production viable yarn solutions.

    Key Responsibilities:-

    Developing natural & man-made fibre based yarn solutions and quality assessment.
    Identifying the latest yarn trends, developments and innovations
    Managing and controlling the yarn during dyeing and finishing processes
    Sourcing yarn, follow-up making and development samples during the sampling stages
    Ensuring quality in areas such as strength, durability, colour fastness, and water and chemical resistance
    Advise chemicals that may be added to product through yarn to make them more waterproof, flame-resistant or shrink-resistant
    Advising commercial colleagues on technical aspects of the business
    Liaising with designers, technical specialists and adapting designs to suit product & production methods
    Undertaking quality evaluations of materials and checking the quality of the final product
    Collaborative developments with key/strategic yarn suppliers
    Responding to product queries, including complaints from internal & external parties
    Undertake research to find new ways of using yarns to give product differentiations
    Experiment with yarn to improve their look, feel, texture and durability.

    Key Requirements:-

    At least 5 years’ experience working across Yarns suitable for Knits (Preferably Flat Knit)
    Strong understanding of factory process
    Technologically experienced
    Extremely hands on
    Excellent development knowledge
    Good understanding of Chemical awareness
    Ability to travel
