    I joined V&C in 2015 as an Administrator, quickly progressing to Junior Consultant then Consultant as my skills and knowledge in both the retail and recruitment industries rapidly developed.

    I was recently promoted to Operations Executive and Consultant, I now support the Directors with Operational needs and cover all roles at all levels across the whole retail industry from merchandising and buying, to technical and production and beyond.

    Design Development Manager

    Opportunity for a Development Project Manager to join one of the UK’s leading Shop fixtures and fittings manufactures.

    You will be responsible for working closely with the Design teams to collate drawings, specs and BOM’s and work closely with suppliers with development of new products.

    Must have a minimum 5 years’ experience within shopfitting or retail display, with strong Project Management and Design experience.

    Key Responsibilities:- 

    Providing design support to Key Accounts, liaising with Account Directors and Managers.
    Creating agreed, well defined and formulated briefs and communicating these back into the design team using the appropriate documentation and process.
    Supplying technical design support to internal design team utilizing personal areas of expertise where appropriate, expanding personal knowledge base to include multi-disciplined solutions and exploiting value engineering opportunities
    Monitoring and supporting projects as they develop through the design process actively project managing, supplying documentation and liaising with Procurement Account Directors and Managers.
    Taking active involvement in the project estimating process where required to provide proactive value analysis and optimum cost efficiencies, value engineered products.
    Working with Procurement and supply base to assist with technical queries and to maintain full awareness of manufacturing processes and techniques.
    Collating drawings, specifications and BOM’s for manufacture of prototypes and production roll-outs.
    Providing other functions and colleagues with advice on all aspects of design engineering and technical development.
    Working within strict time parameters in keeping with the demands of retail customers.
    React to project alterations and make adjustments promptly and efficiently, able to be a confident and effective decision maker.
    Actively researching and investigating innovation and new technologies that may be used to increase the businesses range of products and services.
    Able to travel when required to oversee international projects - or liaise with foreign supply base.
    Compliance to company policies and group management systems.

    Key Requirements:-

    Demonstrable ability with Solidworks and/or AutoCAD design software would be of benefit.
    A minimum of 5 years’ experience of project management within the retail display or shop fitting industry.
    Excellent knowledge of shelving systems would be an advantage
    A good appreciation of the relevant manufacturing processes and materials.
    Excellent IT skills to include Microsoft Excel, numeracy and analytical ability
    Good attention to detail with a disciplined approach to time management
    Strong written and oral communication skills.
    Strong interpersonal skills, able to work both independently and in a team orientated collaborative environment.
    Ability to effectively make decisions, prioritise and execute tasks in a high pressure environment
    Organised, process driven individual who understands project management, critical paths, also approval processes, and the commercial implications of decision making.

    As Marketing Manager, you will have the ability to drive the success of the business by implementing a clear and defined strategy that will enable the brand to stand out in a highly competitive market and ultimately drive sales.

    Must have minimum 5 years’ experience in social and digital marketing within Beauty or Retail!

    Key Responsibilities:-

    Leading a team of 6 and managing 3 direct reports including objectives setting and appraisals
    Setting the Marketing agenda including creation and delivery of the Marketing Strategy
    Implementation of the Marketing plan and ensuring that it always supports the over-arching strategy
    Managing agencies to deliver relevant comms across the most relevant channels with a focus on digital and social advertising
    Ensure that the Marketing plan covers the increasingly important focus being placed on the website
    Positioning yourself as the brand guardian so that all the brands comms have a consistent look and feel

    Fantastic opportunity for an experienced Junior Retail CAD Designer / Technical Designer to join an award-winning worldwide shopfitting and retail display organisation within their ambitious team.

    You will be responsible for liaising directly with the client to take project briefings and produce 3D designs that can be manufactured to client expectations within agreed timeframes. You will be the design champion for your team’s projects, owning the design and making it your responsibility to deliver it to the best quality possible.

    You will possess essential knowledge of manufacturing materials, processes and costs within a shopfitting supplier, with at least 1 years in a CAD Designer / Technical Designer position.

    Based in Coventry! 

    Key Responsibilities:-

    Working with internal Concept Designer or external design agencies to realise the chosen concept.
    Sketch solutions to assembly/manufacturing problems or for estimation purposes.
    Take approved visuals/concepts and produce 3D models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
    Ensure projects are designed to budget, actively looking for and promoting cost-saving opportunities during design development.
    Work closely with Project Buyers to develop the appropriate combination of design and supplier, ensuring that designs meet the manufacturing capabilities of the supply base. Be conscious of varying regional supply capabilities and designing for the right market.
    Manage the build and completion of your prototypes, ensuring the unit is presented to the client on time.
    Visit factories within Europe and Asia as needed to verify display construction, specifications and quality.
    Ensure project documentation adheres to company defined processes.
    Ensure designs are fit for purpose, adhering to any client requirements or health and safety needs.
    Managing your time and projects to meet agreed deadlines.
    Be the design lead on larger projects where additional resource is required to deliver.
    Maintain excellent communication across all departments ensuring all relevant project information is circulated to all parties.

    Key Requirements:-

    1 years’ experience of working in Retail Design industry.
    A thorough and demonstrable knowledge and experience in designing for manufacturing displays in; Steel and sheet fabrication, Sheet metal, Finishings, Plastic, Wood fabrication, Wood by-products and Timber.
    Self-motivated, does not need constant supervision to stay productive.
    A good communicator, able to get ideas across and manage expectations.
    Experienced user of Solidworks (or similar 3D modeller)
    Positive approach to problem solving / lateral thinking, can do attitude is essential.
    Process discipline, good attention to detail, ensuring compliance and correct completion of all processes.
    Good time management, working in an organised fashion.
    Good interpersonal skills, working well in a team environment.
    Ability to work flexible hours when necessary and available to travel.
